Kabu-no-Nimono (Simmered  turnip)

Simmered turnip is a lightly flavoured. We simmered with Dashi.

Ingredients

4 turnips
A
  A pinch of salt
  1 Tablespoon Sesame oil
B
  1 Tablespoon Sesame oil
  250cc Dashi
  10cc Soy Sauce
  15cc Mirin

1.Wash the turnips well.
Cut the turnips in four pieces. Chopped the leaves of turnips finely.

2. Heat sesame oil(A) in a skillet, add chopped leaved and a pinch of salt
When leaves become soft, move them to bowl.

3. Heat sesame oil(B) in a pot, and add put turnips.
Stir fry them until the surfaces are golden brown.

4.Add Dashi, Soy Sauce and Mirin (B) in the pot.
Bring it to a boil over high heat.
When it comes to a boil, turn the heat to low and simmer for 10~15 minutes.
Place aluminum foil or oven sheet.Turn off the heat.
Let it stand until 30 minutes before serving.
The flavors will soak into the ingredients while cooling down.
When you heat it up again, pour the soup on top of the ingredients with a spoon a couple of times.
Check the flavors for the last time. And Add the leaves in the pot and mix them.
